Dome Hill ( Old Town) in Tallinn Estonia. An old fortress
with beautiful towers, churches and cobblestone streets. Where the
old meets the new with lots of history blended in. An
accessible tour took us sight seeing. We were able to get
out and take pictures and do a little exploring. The
churches were not accessible. The town square was fairly
accessible. |

Your first obstacle when entering St. Petersburg Russia. This is right
outside the customs office. It is about three inches high. Easy in a
manual chair. More difficult in a power chair. ( Certainly wouldn't
take much to to slope it.)

St. Petersburg Russia. The rives are used for transportation |

As we found out on our tour, if you are disabled you
either are sent to an institution or it is up to your family to take care of
your needs. There are no accessible cars, taxis or buses in St.
Petersburg. We did have an accessible van for our tours. It pays to plan
ahead with a Certified Accessible Travel Specialist. |

The two pictures to the left show our accessible van.
There were three wheelchairs users, three caregivers, a driver and a guide. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English.
